The End of Summer on the Horizon

The days are getting shorter again. There is a chill on the evening air. Word is that it will rain this weekend. I suppose it will. Not much point in arguing with the weather. No, I think that I will accept this change and all that it implies. The world is moving on, despite the wars, terror, hunger, drive-bys and avian flu. All we can do is make sure that we have enough candy to handout to the neighborhood kids and consider serving ham this year at Thanksgiving. It is fall afterall, not fallout, and we need to move forward, albeit at a slower, wintercoat/holiday fat sort of pace. So, let the rain come down and after it the leaves; I tire of summer. This country needs a holiday, and quite possibly a beer. Maybe two.
