And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Feet

With all apologies to Dr. Seuss.

When we leave the house to go outside
to play our games and run in the yard,
Dad looks at us and always says,
"Boys, have fun and be sure to play hard."

We run under peach trees, apples and plum
around figs, grapes, and blueberries too.
Squishing squish berries, to make squishberry paint,
and we do it all, never wearing a shoe.

Seldom does it take, the paint we create,
but on our toes, it leaves quite the hue-
blues and reds and purples as well.
What is a squishberry? We haven't a clue.

Daddy knows, when he brings us a treat,
he says we're fruity, with Mulberry feet.
